The +81 Vol.65 Craft and Technology issue explores two distinctive and polarized trends in the creative industry – technological and hand crafted. It will help to learn the potential, value, appeal, energy and affinity of these two genres. The issue also features 15 pieces of Japanese designers’ artwork that took top prize at this year’s most prestigious advertising design awards.
In conjunction with the latest issue, +81 Galley New York presents a participatory and interactive exhibition, Vol. 65, which mainly features hand crafted pieces by Si Scott and KeeganMeegan & Co., and award-winning pieces by the most distinctive Japanese creators.
手作業によって「クラフト」感のある表現を追求するクリエイターと、「テクノロジー」を駆使した新しい表現を切り拓くクリエイターという、両極に位置するクリエイションを同時に取り上げ、双方の魅力や可能性、価値、エネルギー、共通点を探求した最新号『+81 Vol.65 Craft and Technology issue』。また第2特集では、本年度の世界的なデザイン・アワードで受賞を果たした日本人クリエイターの作品を厳選して紹介している。
そこで今回は、本誌で掲載された作品を実際に見て、触れることができる『+81 Vol.65』と連動したエキシビションを、9月4日より+81 Gallery New Yorkにて開催。「クラフト」サイドのSi Scott、KeeganMeegan & Co.によるアートワークをはじめ、日本人アワード受賞作品を中心とした展示構成となっている。
